ExcelPlas have developed a standardised approach for assessing the relative remaining lifetime of plastic pipes used within the Australian water and gas network. The degradation behaviour and lifetime of HDPE pipes can be determining using a multicriteria program based on OIT profiling through the pipe wall in combination with carbonyl index and bend-back microcrack detection.
