American Gas Association (AGA) petitioned the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) to reconsider language regarding heat fusion procedures provided in the plastic pipe rule. Specifically, AGA asks PHMSA to broaden § 192.281 of the pipeline safety regulations to allow qualified heat fusion procedures outside of, but in accordance with, ASTM F2620-12 Standard Practice for Heat Fusion Joining of Polyethylene Pipe and Fittings.
